Maenan CJ stars in Horse and Hound

We were thrilled to bits to see Maenan CJ (Rhosymeirch Surprise/Menai Carema) featured in Horse and Hound. As the article says poor CJ has had some dramatic ups and downs in her life. From the joy of winning a Welsh Pony and Cob Society Medal to the mishaps of getting her head stuck in the fork of a tree, to a wire injury and then an attack in her field leaving her with many, many stitches. Her owners, Adam and Callie's diligent nursing meant that CJ, now nick named Calamity Jane, regained full health and has been shown twice this year winning both times. Horse and Hound called CJ 'One to Watch' We here at Maenan have indeed watched her with great pride.Adam and Callie 'booked' this foal even before she was born. Under strict instructions to ring as soon as the mare foaled, we did, at about two o'clock in the morning to tell them they had a chestnut filly foal with four white socks. Next morning we had to ring to say they actually had a bay foal with four white socks. Well it had looked chesnut under the street light alongside the field she was born in! Thank heavens it was a filly. We'd have been shot if we'd got that wrong as well!! Congratulations to CJ, Adam and Callie.
