I?m always a bit superstitious about counting my chickens before they are hatched but we get so many e-mails asking about foals that are due that I thought I should be brave and write a little about the expected babies. God willing we are expecting three foals this year. Our senior Section C Mare, Maenan Ceri (Merioneth Storm xMenai Carema) visited Dhanak RS, Adam Fletcher and Callie Steins WPCS Silver Medal winning colt. RS is by our own Rhosymeirch Surprise and out of Telynau Rosina (Synod Reagan x Synod Greetings). We are really excited about this cross and can?t wait to see the end result. Both our Sec A mares Menai Silver Minnie (Friars Ranger x Menai Silver Coin) and Glyncoch Trudy (Cefnfedw Golden Glory x Yaverland Nia) ran with our Lampeter winning Sec A stallion Carnalw Dewr (Carnalw Deryn x Carnalw Dunos) Minnie?s filly by Dewr from last year, Maenan Arianne, is just gorgeous. Very stiking with the most tremendous look at me personality. We were going to sell her on but have decided to keep her to show as she just gets better and better. We almost sold her last Autumn but I?m so glad she stayed. If this year?s two foals are half as good we shall be more than satisfied! Here?s to a safe and happy foaling time this year, all things being equal.
